Exploring spatial optimization techniques for the placement of flow monitors utilized in RDII studies(2010)

This study shows how Operations Research and GIS can be utilized in tandem to optimize sewer flow monitoring locations for a rainfall derived infiltration and inflow (RDII) study.

Modernizing your Sewer Flow Monitoring Technology (2017)

This presentation discusses the benefits and applications of real-time monitoring in wastewater collection systems. It highlights how utilities can leverage continuous data collection to improve system performance, reduce maintenance costs, and mitigate issues such as overflows, blockages, and inflow/infiltration.

Using GIS and Spatial Optimization for Improvements in RDII Analysis (2011)

Urban sanitation networks are difficult problems to analyze due to the non-Euclidean nature of pipelines that requires global solutions to optimization problems. The placement of flow monitors within such a network requires a graph theoretic approach that simultaneously considers all possible solution sets. This document was published in the 2011 Proceedings for the Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition & Conference (WEFTEC).
